Novotel, Manly Beach
http://www.fhandgenetics2012.com/
The ISA Satellite meeting on Familial Hypercholesterolaemia and Genetic Dyslipidaemia will address the scientific, clinical and organisational aspects of genetic dyslipidaemia. In addition to Familial Hypercholesterolaemia, a parallel programme will cover Lp(a), severe hypertriglyceridaemia and hypolipidaemic states, especially low HDL. The venue is a beachside part of Sydney that is within easy reach of Sydney International Airport. Arrangements for facilitated transfer to the main ISA meeting will be available for registrants.
Basic and Clinical Aspects of Plaque Progression

This satellite meeting will provide the opportunity for the presentation of recent research results pertaining to the study of plasma lipids and lipoproteins in the fed state and their role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Topics will focus on environmental, pharmacological and genetic factors affecting postprandial triglyceridaemia and potentially atherogenic remnant lipoproteins.
HDL
'High-density lipoproteins: biology and therapeutics.'
Date: 30 March - 1 April 2012
Hilton Hotel Cairns, Australia
www.hdlcairns2012.com.au
HDL Satellite meetings are an established feature of the triennial ISA meetings and regularly attract many of the leading researchers in the field. The satellite provides a forum for presentation and discussion of state-of-the-art knowledge of the biology and biochemistry of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and of recent developments in therapeutics directed to modifications of HDL metabolism and function. The program reflects the many recent and exciting developments in the field, and includes presentations by leading researchers. Additional oral presentations are to be selected from submitted abstracts and, along with poster sessions, form an integral part of the scientific program. We hope that this meeting will provide an excellent forum for exchange of information and discussions between established and junior investigators, trainees and industry scientists.
Confirmed speakers include: John Chapman (Paris), Sean Davidson (Ohio), Gordon Francis (Vancouver), Jay Heinecke (Seattle), John Kastelein (Amsterdam), Alan Remaley (NIH, Bethesda), Dan Rader (Philadelphia), Ernst Schaeffer (Boston), Alan Tall (New York).
